Man charged over £250k burglary at snooker star’s Northamptonshire home

A man accused of stealing luxury watches and jewellery from the home of former snooker world champion Kyren Wilson has appeared in court.Kyren had been playing snooker in Leicester when his home in Polwell Lane, Barton Seagrave, was targeted by a burglar in June.The house in Polwell Lane in Barton Seagrave was broken into in JuneSpeaking on social media, he said that among the jewellery, watches and luggage taken after someone broke an upstairs window were an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Cartier Santos, and Rolex Datejust watches and a blue sapphire necklace.The thief also took £2,000 cash that had been set aside as a donation to the BeMoreFab children’s cancer charity.Now it has emerged that Kane Lee, 27, of Albert Road, Luton, was arrested by Northamptonshire Police officers earlier this month and appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court on July 9.The authorities estimate the value of the goods taken to be £250,000.Lee entered no plea at the short hearing. He was remanded in custody and his case was sent to Northampton Crown Court where he will appear on August 20. After the burglary, Kyren said: “This has been a deeply distressing experience, not because of the value of the items alone, but because of the personal memories and meaning attached to them.”Continue Reading
